The Name

There is something peculiar about Dorothy's Dishes. Perhaps not the band itself, but at least the name. People continue to ask each of us what the name means, where it comes from, and why not choose a name that doesn't prompt so many questions. First, the name does mean something. Second, we only share the meaning and its origins at live shows. And third, you won't likely be satisfied when you hear it. And you may just hear more than one version. Sort of like our songs.

You may have memorized the dictionary, entries A to Z.  You may have letters by your name, degrees or PhDs. Perhaps you know all languages, but against your deepest wishes, you may never learn the origin of the band name Dorothy's Dishes.
